What is family law?
Family law is the body of legal principles, procedures, rules, and laws that direct the courts in determining what to do when members of a family are in dispute, including a divorce and child custody. Family law can also be called domestic relations law.
In Las Vegas, family law is reviewed by the Clark County Eighth Judicial District Court. The same court also handles various other matters related to the family, including name changes, guardianships, and adoptions.
