To file for divorce in Clark County, Nevada (Las Vegas, Henderson, North Las Vegas, Boulder City) the current filing fee is $289.00 (November 2009). Add several more dollars to that for copying costs. Then, you will have to have a process server serve your soon to be ex. If you go with a professional server (recommended) it will cost a minimum of $50.00.
As you can see, the filing and service costs alone exceed $300.00. If an attorney says that he will handle your no contest divorce for $250.00, you should know that that is just his/her fee and does not include any court costs. Make sure you question your attorney regarding all the potential costs.
If it is a paralegal or some other person who wants your money to prepare paperwork, get away and contact a real lawyer, otherwise you will be giving money to someone who has no authority to practice law. Very costly mistake.
Caveat Emptor: Let the buyer beware. Usually this applies to products or goods, but, in this case, apply it to your legal representation.

Nevada has forty-six Nevada Revised Statutes in its law books that directly deal with cannabis. Forty of the statutes involve medical marijuana, and six involve criminal usage. There are many more indirect statutes as well as case law and federal law that are relevant as well. If you have been charged with a crime involving marijuana, call us to assist. We do not advocate the usage of this substance, and by no means encourage breaking the laws, however, with so many laws on the books involving this weed, it can be confusing to know your rights. It is important to have an attorney in your corner to guide you away from illegal activity and also fight for you when faced with criminal prosecution. We do not advocate illegal usage or possession, but we will zealously advocate for your rights under the law.
